“The lioness is reunited with her cub, and all is right in the world”–from Kill Bill 2

Being a parent, IMO, is a lifetime–and often thankless–job. When you’re a parent, you are your kids’ safety net FOREVER–or at least until they learn to fly on their own. The security brought by having a decent family is priceless, but not always appreciated. [Good] parents pay the bills, cook the food, clean the house. They do (or they are supposed to) the mundane, everyday things that make a house a home–that makes a relative become family. That makes the world right-side up. That makes a person feel like a bridge is over the chasm, and he will never fall into that lonely abyss.

There is nothing in the world that could make a person feel like the rug has been yanked from under his feet than having nobody to rely on. Agree?
